More Information

Guided farm walks take place on Wednesday afternoons at 2pm from 16th July to 10th September 2009 and last approximately 2 hours.

You will see how the land and farm are managed to encourage wildlife, find out some of the history of the land and how its position and type dictate the crops and animals farmed.

Discover how important the weather is in a farmer’s decision making and some of the funny things, which happen on farms.

Amongst the interesting things you’ll see are:

  • a large badger sett
  • cob built goose house
  • mobile henhouses
  • small comfrey plantation
  • cows & calves
  • laying hens
  • traditionally laid hedges
  • wildlife pond, coppiced trees
  • wonderful views
  • pastureland, crops, woodland
  • organic farm shop

Footwear~ trainers are usually adequate but the ground is rough and sometimes wet. Most people find that flip-flops and push chairs are impossible!

How to find us
